In addition, SCR’s (Software Defined Radios) have been developed, providing standard platforms to convert Digital I/Q to high quality RF signals. One GPU, for example, is capable of generating digital I/Q for more than 200 GPS/GNNS satellite signals at a rate of 1,000Hz. Enough processing, for example, to digitally generate multiple GPS/GNNS signals. The recent advances in computer hardware, particularly GPU’s (Graphics Processing Units) have enabled high levels of processing to be performed in Real-Time. Traditionally advanced GPS/GNNS Signal Generators required custom hardware in order to generate the required signals in real-time, with the level of fidelity necessary, to test the performance of GPS/GNNS Receivers. Principally it comprises Signal Generator Hardware, operating with the Skydel Simulation Engine. The HEEDRA RFCS-200A Simulation System has been developed for the performance testing of GPS/GNNS Receivers.
