I wonder how many plugs were fouled back in the day? Almost a non issue today. Anybody remember the old Harley Hummers with the mixing cup on the gas cap? In Jr high school, I/we used "reclaimed " motor oil (in the glass 10 cents a quart. Maybe I have just been lucky, but the modern stuff is certainly superior to the straight motor oil we used to use back in the old days. My 40+ year old race engine has run with an ethanol/regular mix,ethanol-free high test mix, race gas, and even up north with an oxygenated fuel mix, all without difficulty. Yikes! I prefer to see a bit of smoke for security and the wife loves the smell! Makes it easier to justify the expense! Seems to mix fine with whatever fuel is available. The website has a ratio chart with mixes up to 100 to 1. All of my Bultacos have survived on Maxima 927 and I am always monkeying around with the mix but generally run 4oz to a gallon. Prior to that I ran a variety of "bean oils" as they were available even back into the Castrol "R" days. I can't remember when I discovered the stuff, maybe 10 years or more.
